D.E.A Project

DEA Project were true pioneers of the UK Garage scene, they wrote some of the best 2step tunes ever. Most notably thier remix of Mariah Carey's 'My All' which i still batter on the regular.

Their style falls into that more melodic end of the 2step scale near the tail end of the 1990's such as artists like Groove Chronicles, Masterstepz, Steve Gurley, Zed Bias and MJ Cole but really goes alot deeper than those mentioned. Its true London Blues, well-written basslines, carefully constructed and often complex melodies, alot of the time with only the slightest hints of vocals here and there to give it that dubby effect.

DEA Project - So High

DEA Project - Nasty Bitch

A personal favourite:

Songstress - Seeline Woman '99 (DEA Project Mix)

Check out some more tunes on their mypsace: http://www.myspace.com/deaproject

Again, catch me n Brackles on RINSE.FM tonight from 1am rinsing out some of these classics plus first hour all FRESHNESS. New and exclusive beats from Shortstuff, Desto, Zomby, Skream, Loefah and the usual bits n bobs.
